It’s hard to believe we are starting our 2025 season! This last year brought many changes and excitement to our center! The beginning of 2024 we held a Valentine's Day Gala at the Pines Evergreen Room. Soon enough it was time to kick off our JCBank Friday Night Live concert series. We loved spending our Friday nights listening to awesome music and trying different food trucks! Our children's summer art camp had so much demand that a fourth week was added. The future of art in our community is bright! At around this time, Silas Cheo, formerly our co-director, became SICA's executive director.

As we headed into fall, we had our second annual community Artful Fair, which brought a lot of families to the SICA campus for the first time to partake in carnival games, a bouncy house, pony rides, face painting, and more! That evening we had our adult-only Artful Affair event, sponsored by Bob Poynter GM and Lola's Modern Kitchen, that featured local art vendors, live music, and hors d'oeuvres. Throughout the 2024 year we hosted several wonderful Saturday workshops, a beautiful quilt gallery brought to us by artist Mary Asmus, and many private events.

Betty Johnson continues pottery instruction in our pottery studio from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Director Silas Cheo as well as other local artists will remain hosting Saturday workshops. We are excited to begin hosting regular Wine and Paint classes as well as open studio time throughout the week. See the Art tab to view upcoming schedules. You may call, text (812) 522-2278, message on social media, or email silas@soinart.com to reserve your spot. Discounts are available to members.

We have also been getting much of our facility remodeled. Come check out the changes to our main gallery house! Previously the Print Barn, the Red Roof Studio is going to be where our workshops will now be taking place. These many changes will allow the main house to return to a traditional gallery with regular shows. On that note, we are thrilled to announce our first show on February 28 featuring artist Marvin Cherney.
